About the event
Just in time for your autumn celebrations, join Wee Things fiber artist and Hartsbrook parent Rachel Beaupré and hand-sew your own soft pumpkin gnome! This adult sewing class is beginner friendly and requires no previous sewing experience. We will cover basics such as whip stitch and running stitch, as well as basic embroidery and how to form a simplified Waldorf-inspired doll head. Each participant will get to customize their own wee pumpkin baby, choosing skin tone, hair and eye color, as well as the pumpkin fabric. We will work with upcycled sweaters, plant-dyed wool felt, wool batting, and cotton embroidery floss—a beautifully natural materials lineup!
A complete kit of materials and tools as well as detailed printed instructions will be provided. The finished dolls are approximately 3 ½” tall, although the pattern may be scaled. Partial workshop proceeds to benefit the Hartsbrook School!
